Let your heart sit down
The song says
I’d rather have Jesus than silver and gold
I’d rather have Jesus than riches untold
The song says
Were you there when they crucified my Lord (were you there)
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree
Let your heart sit down
in peace from fear and doubt
This world is not your journey’s end
nor is it where it first began
It started before the dawn of light
this plan for the child of virgin birth
with angels attending
and wise men giving gifts of myrrh
It ended on a cross on Calvary
over 2000 years ago
The Son of man, the Son of God
died once and for all time
and once for all
Let your heart sit down
There is a better way
provided for you
to live a life of hope
So trust that it is safe
to believe Christ lived
and died for you and me
Know that He has set you free
How can we live with
the mistakes we’ve made in this life
Some roads we’ve traveled
are littered with rebellion
and self-indulgence
Others are strewn with failures
Still other roads are sprawled
With broken relationships
But the worse is the empty road
where we are left standing by
someone who once loved us
We have not listened to our heart
or harkened to the voice of God
Some even say there is no God
We keep standing in the way of
hearing only what our
true heart can say
Let your heart sit down
from the pain of the past
Though even today the pain be great
it doesn’t have to last
Our sins are forgiven
the past forgotten
It’s all there for the offering
Jesus alone died for our sins
No other god can say the same
No matter how well versed the name
We need no other sacrifice
No human high priest interceding
No prophet renown
No abstract being
No modern day revelation
No sole devotion to good works
No other age of realization
No unending cycles of
deaths and rebirths
Jesus is the absolute truth
and the only source of life
When He had finished His work
He sat down at the right hand of God
So let your heart sit down
and enter into His rest
with your confidence
knowing that you can trust
Jesus’ sacrifice for us
The song says
All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ name
let angels prostrate fall
Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all
Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all
Let your heart sit down…..
